Poultry Red Mite Control Powder – Almite
ALMITE® Powder is an innovative solution developed to support the effective control of Dermanyssus gallinae in commercial poultry production. Advanced Natural Protection
ALMITE® combines five carefully selected silicates with essential oils to create a highly effective barrier against red mites. Rather than relying on conventional chemical action, the product works through multiple physical mechanisms that interfere with the parasite’s survival and mobility. It helps dehydrate eggs and immature stages, damages the protective cuticle of adult mites, blocks respiratory pores and limits movement by affecting their joints. In addition, the essential oils provide a natural repellent effect, helping reduce parasite activity over time. Because it is 100% natural, ALMITE® can also be applied safely in the presence of birds.
Application
ALMITE® can be applied either as a dry powder using an electrostatic powder applicator or as a water suspension with a sprayer equipped with continuous agitation. For optimal performance, a dosage of 30 g/m² is recommended. Preventive application before birds are introduced provides long-lasting protection, while treatments during production should generally be repeated every 40–60 days, depending on the infestation level and farm conditions. This flexible application protocol makes ALMITE® an effective component of an integrated red mite management programme.
